DMAS: Update on CARES Act Funding

DMAS: Update on CARES Act Funding

On May 21, DMAS issued a notice to long term care providers about CARES Act funding and its review of eligible invoices.

The message from DMAS was as follows:

Dear Long Term Care Provider:

With the recent enactment of the 2021 Appropriations Act, Item 479.10 has made changes to the allocations of funding from the Coronavirus Relief Fund for several projects. The support for Long-Term Care Facilities was reduced from $55,640,872 in the previous budget to $10,343,453 in the newly enacted bill.

DMAS completed our review of eligible invoices and has adequate appropriations to pay all approved invoices without prorating payments. DMAS has begun processing payments to providers and direct deposits should begin showing up next week. While DMAS will not have to reduce any approved payments from invoices received by the December 2020 deadline, funding is not available for additional reimbursement requests. Given the reduced appropriation, DMAS will not be accepting any additional invoices.

If you have not received an expected payment, please contact caresactinvoicing_nf@mslc.com.
