Advocacy is a year-round job.

• There’s much more to advocacy than lobbying during the General Assembly session.
• The meetings and outreach we conduct with legislators, agency officials, and other stakeholders beyond session have lasting impact on our ability to be effective advocates for our members.

• 9/19—Attended a political fundraiser for Gov. Glenn Youngkin.
• 9/19—Participated in the biweekly call for AHCA/NCAL state affiliate staff.
• 9/19—Attended a meeting of the Department for Aging And Rehabilitative Services work group looking at guardianship issues.
• 9/20—Monitored the Board of Medical Assistance Services meeting.
• 9/21—Participated in the quarterly meeting for CMS Region 3 long term care stakeholders.
• 9/22—Hosted a meeting of the VHCA-VCAL LTC Workforce Work Group.
• 9/22—Attended a meeting for the DMAS Nursing Facility Value-Based Purchasing Stakeholders.
