Advocacy is a year-round job.

• There’s much more to advocacy than lobbying during the General Assembly session.
• The meetings and outreach we conduct with legislators, agency officials, and other stakeholders beyond session have lasting impact on our ability to be effective advocates for our members.

Take a look at our outreach and advocacy work for the week of March 20, 2023.  

• 3/20—Participated in the biweekly AHCA/NCAL call for state affiliate staff.
• 3/21-22—90 individuals attended the third and fourth sessions of the Behavioral Health: Care Process for Residents With Dementia Webinar Series.
• 3/21—Hosted a meeting of the VHCA-VCAL Education Committee.
• 3/22—Attended the quarterly stakeholder meeting for Virginia’s Community Integrated Health Network.
• 3/22—Monitored the VHI Board of Directors meeting.
• 3/23—Hosted a meeting of the VHCA-VCAL Convention & Trade Show Committee.
• 3/24—Met with DMAS to discuss the development of the Nursing Facility Quality Improvement Program.
