Advocacy is a year-round job.

• There’s much more to advocacy than lobbying during the General Assembly session.
• The meetings and outreach we conduct with legislators, agency officials, and other stakeholders beyond session have lasting impact on our ability to be effective advocates for our members.

Take a look at our outreach and advocacy work for the week of July 17, 2023. 

• 7/17—Participated in a DMAS Nursing Facility Value-Based Purchasing Stakeholder meeting.
• 7/18—Attended political fundraisers for Sen. Ghazala Hashmi (D-Chesterfield) and Sen. Jennifer Boysko (D-Herndon).
• 7/18—Hosted a meeting of the Convention and Trade Show Committee to prepare for the upcoming events.
• 7/19—The VHCA-VCAL Nominating Committee met to review the 2024 nominations for the Board of Directors.
