Advocacy is a year-round job.

• There’s much more to advocacy than lobbying during the General Assembly session.
• The meetings and outreach we conduct with legislators, agency officials, and other stakeholders beyond session have lasting impact on our ability to be effective advocates for our members.

• 8/26—Visited Westminster Canterbury on Chesapeake Bay, Aviva Pembroke Senior Living, attended August Healthcare Management’s Summer Summit.
• 8/27—Joined with Retirement Unlimited, Inc. to host Dream Flights for their veteran residents at Leesburg Executive Airport.
• 8/29—Participated in a meeting of the work group looking at the use of temporary detention orders for individuals with neurocognitive and dementia diagnoses.
