CMS: Deficiency-Free Surveys on the Rise

Nursing Home Data ReportAHCA has shared the news from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) that the percentage of nursing center surveys that were deficiency-free increased from 8.8% in 2009 to 10.2% in 2014. 

Similarly, the percentage of surveys resulting in the determination of substandard quality of care has also declined from 4.4% in 2008 to 3.2% in 2014. The 2015 Nursing Home Data Compendium captures survey outcomes and characteristics for more than 15,000 Medicare- and Medicaid-certified nursing centers, and captures information on the demographic, functional and clinical characteristics of more than 1.4 million residents who reside in these centers.
