CCC Plus Implementation Slips One Month in Tidewater; Rest of Schedule Unchanged
The Department of Medical Assistance Services (DMAS) announced this week that the CCC Plus implementation schedule had slipped one month from July 1, 2017 to August 1, 2017 in Tidewater. For the rest of the planned rollout regions (click here to see map), there is no change to the schedule. Indications are that contract execution between DMAS and some or all of the seven managed care organizations (MCOs) for CCC Plus is imminent.
DMAS had originally indicated that VHCA-VCAL and other stakeholders would have an opportunity to review the second draft contract prior to execution by DMAS and the MCOs; that is no longer DMAS’s intention. VHCA-VCAL had provided DMAS multiple comments on the original draft contract shared in mid-December of last year. Once we see the newly executed contracts, we will know if those comments were addressed in the final contract.
As always, VHCA-VCAL will continue to monitor the pre-implementation developments and update the membership as necessary. If you have any questions about CCC Plus, please do not hesitate to contact Steve Ford at steve.ford@vhca.org.
About CCC Plus
The Virginia Medicaid program will be transitioning long term care services, including nursing center care, to a statewide, mandatory managed care delivery system, called CCC Plus, starting August 1, 2017 (about 6 months from now) in Tidewater and phasing in regionally across the Commonwealth with full completion in January 2018 when any remaining CCC participants transition to MLTSS.
