Silver National Quality Award iconSix VHCA-VCAL members earned the 2017 Silver – Achievement in Quality Award by the American Health Care Association and National Center for Assisted Living (AHCA/NCAL).

Congratulations to the following:

  • Heritage Hall – Front Royal
  • Heritage Hall – Grundy
  • Sunrise of Leesburg
  • Sunrise of Springfield
  • The Orchard, Warsaw

The award is the second of three distinctions possible through the AHCA/NCAL National Quality Award Program, which honors providers across the nation that have demonstrated their commitment to improving quality of care for residents and patients in long term and post-acute care centers and communities.

“I applaud these centers for receiving this significant honor from AHCA-NCAL,” said VHCA-VCAL President and CEO Keith Hare.  “It shows their commitment to a culture of continuous improvement in the quality of care for their residents and patients.”

Based on the core values and criteria of the Baldrige Performance Excellence Program, the AHCA/NCAL National Quality Award Program challenges member providers to achieve performance excellence through three progressive levels—Bronze, Silver, and Gold. At the Silver level, members develop and demonstrate effective approaches that help improve performance and health care outcomes.

Silver recipients can advance in developing approaches that meet the criteria required for the Gold – Excellence in Quality Award. On June 1, the association announced  7 VHCA-VCAL members who earned the Bronze – Commitment to Quality Award.  Later this summer, the names of the Gold awards will be announced.
