Health and Safety Protocols
(Updated as of August 19, 2022)
The CDC recommends use of COVID Community Levels to determine the impact of COVID-19 on communities and needed prevention steps. Take precautions to protect yourself and others from COVID-19 based on the COVID-19 Community Level in your area.
In summary, the CDC recommends staying up to date with vaccines and testing if you have symptoms. Further, it says people may choose to wear a mask anytime. (Note: Community Transmission levels are provided for healthcare facility use only.)
Given that providers are covered under the CMS vaccine mandate and most of our associate members are also vaccinated, VHCA-VCAL’s updated safety protocols are*:
1. We will not require proof of vaccination or otherwise ask about vaccine status.
2. Masks will be encouraged but not required. Per CDC guidance, masks should be worn indoors in public when the COVID-19 Community Level is High. We ask that anyone not vaccinated please wear a mask.
3. Meetings held on-site at a long term care facility must follow the host facility’s protocols.
*Subject to change.
Our goal is always to keep our event attendees healthy and safe. As a precautionary measure, VHCA-VCAL asks attendees who are sick and/or have active symptoms of fever, cough, or shortness of breath to please refrain from attending our events for the benefit of all concerned. Attendees who must refrain from participating in an event due to exposure/illness for which registration has already been paid may contact Doran Hutchinson to discuss cancellation options.
