Overview

Join us for this live, one-hour webinar discussing how participating in the process to apply for an AHCA/NCAL National Quality Award will produce benefits beyond obtaining an award itself. Presenters Tammy Kelly and Wendy Walter will introduce the integrated performance excellence model based on the Baldrige for Health Care Criteria. They will introduce the performance improvement and performance excellence framework specific to skilled nursing facilities (SNFs) and assisted living facilities (ALFs). Kelly and Walter will explain how these core concepts and foundations of a performance excellence model align with QAPI and facility performance improvement processes. You will also learn how to assess your center’s current status.

 

Who should attend?

Nursing facility and assisted living facility leaders who want to boost their organization’s performance excellence and/or those considering applying for an AHCA/NCAL Nation Quality Award should attend.

 

Presenters

Tammy Kelly, PT, LNHA, RAC-CT | Director of RAI & Clinical Reimbursement | CCR

Tammy Kelly is currently the director of RAI and clinical reimbursement and a member of the senior management team at CCR. Kelly has presented on a variety of topics at AHCA and VHCA-VCAL events and other professional conferences. She has served as a senior examiner/team leader for the AHCA Silver Quality Awards since 2007 and is one of four co-authors of curriculum for AANAC’s Medicare University three-day training.

Wendy Walter | Regional Director of Operations | CCR

Wendy Walter joined the CCR team in April of 2012 bringing with her over 30 years of experience in long term care administration. Walter obtained her license as a nursing home administrator in 1996 and held various positions with one of Virginia’s largest providers in Virginia where she demonstrated success with operational results, regulatory compliance, and quality. Walter also brings experience in working for a health system. During her tenure with Centra Health, she led her team to two national quality awards with the AHCA and various other awards from the VHCA-VCAL. She was also instrumental in implementation of the quality and patient safety program for post-acute services. Walter also serves as a senior examiner for the National Quality Award Program with the AHCA and often provides education to providers in Virginia on quality and regulatory topics.

 

Continuing Education

VHCA-VCAL is a NAB-Certified CE Provider. This webinar has been approved for Continuing Education for 1 total participant hour by NAB/NCERS—Approval #20240517-1-A93321-DL. Attendance will be monitored during the webinar. Partial credit will not be awarded. The webinar will be recorded, but NAB credit is only provided to registered participating attendees of the live session.

 

Registration Deadline:

The deadline to register is 3:00 pm on May 17, 2023. Payment for non-members is due with registration.

 

VHCA-VCAL Education Cancellation and Refund Policy for Webinars

Registration fees are not refundable. All registrants will receive a copy of the recorded webinar and slides if you cannot attend the live event. Please note, NAB credit is only provided to registered participating attendees of the live sessions.

Survey Related Cancellation

If a facility is having a survey, the administrator and DON of the facility are able to cancel their registration without a penalty. Facilities must provide this information in writing to doran.hutchinson@vhca.org.
