Virginia’s comprehensive standards governing licensed assisted living facilities have been overhauled.  Pending final approval by the governor, the existing regulations at 22 VAC 40-72 will be replaced in their entirety by 22 VAC 40-73. These changes cover a wide breadth of assisted living operations including staff training, resident care, activity programming, infection control, and staffing in special care units.

During this half-day session, our panelists will help you understand what is new and different in the standards and what the legal implications of the new regulations are.  They will offer strategies and approaches you can use to address the challenges facing your facility and to ensure operational compliance. VHCA-VCAL staff will also provide a recap of the 2017 General Assembly actions related to assisted living.
