Overview

To comply with the CMS emergency preparedness rule for long term care facilities by November, you need to be sure you’re taking an “all-hazards” approach to developing your emergency preparedness plan.  Subject matter experts from the Virginia Department of Health will offer detailed information on how to prepare your center for natural disasters and man-made emergencies—from hurricanes to floods to fires, to cyberattacks.  They’ll review the community resources available to you before and during an emergency.

Our presenters will deliver you details on the four required elements of your emergency preparedness plan:  risk assessment and planning; policies and procedures; communications plan; and training and testing.  The program will conclude with a facilitated discussion about best practices for responding to an emergency from a career health care safety and security expert.

Featured Presenters
