AL Administrators Needed to Serve on the Board of LTC Administrators

What’s happening: Positions on the Board of Long-Term Care Administrators for licensed administrators are open or will become open on July 1.

  • VHCA-VCAL encourages members to apply for these openings to serve on this key board.
  • The open positions include two assisted living facility administrators and one nursing home administrator. There may also be an opening for a citizen member.

 

About serving on the Board: Board members are appointed by the governor for a four-year term. Appointees can serve no more than two successive terms. New terms begin on July 1.

How to apply: Visit the Secretary of the Commonwealth’s website. On the Comprehensive Board Listing webpage, enter “Long-Term Care” in in the search bar to filter the results.

What the Board does: The Board of Long Term Care Administrators regulates the following professions: nursing home administrators, nursing home preceptors, assisted living facility administrators, assisted living facility preceptors.

  • The Board also issues guidance documents that provide information or guidance to the public to interpret or implement statutes and the agency’s rules or regulations. Topics covered by the guidance documents include qualifications for licensure and continuing education requirements.
