Two VCAL Committee workgroups are spearheading initiatives to provide assisted living members with new resources and information.

The first project is an effort to revamp the VCAL Assisted Survey Readiness Manual. The current version of the manual was developed in 2009 and does not reflect the updated Standards for Assisted Living Facilities found in 22 VAC 40-73. The new iteration for the manual will reflect the new standards and include additional tools and resources for VCAL members.

The second project is an effort to identify assisted living-specific quality measures and develop data analytics. 

A breakout session at the Legislative Conference led by VCAL Committee Chair Robin Gordon, Director of Nursing at The Terrace of Beth Sholom, and VHCA-VCAL’s Vice President of Quality Improvement and Director of VCAL April Payne will provide additional detail on these projects.
