Provider Goes Digital

Provider Goes Digital

AHCA/NCAL has just posted its February digital issue of Provider online. This month’s theme is infection control and prevention and what providers have learned during a year of the COVID-19 pandemic. The issue highlights providers’ recent experiences, lessons learned, and best practices in three great articles.

In the first piece, clinicians report on new policies implemented, such as patient isolation procedures, even while they have embraced innovation in cleaning and disinfecting, including the use of UV light for sterilization.

The next topic, which concerns the vital role communication has played during the pandemic,  emphasizes the critical need for providers to stay ahead of misinformed theories and opinions by using clinical evidence to continually educate staff and families about the virus and infection prevention and control issues.

In the final article, providers offer five positives that have arisen in the midst of the horrific pandemic, including a new understanding on the part of regulators, legislators, and the public at-large of the key role long term care plays in the health care continuum.
