ICYMI: New Public Data Shows Urgent Need for Testing, PPE at Virginia’s LTC Facilities

New data released on May 18 by the Virginia Hospital and Healthcare Association (VHHA) highlights COVID-19 cases and PPE needs across the state. This information reinforces the need for state and federal officials to continue to rally around long term care (LTC) providers to prioritize additional testing, PPE, staffing, and funding to address this crisis. It is important to note, however, the dashboard does not include any data from assisted living facilities, which have also been impacted by COVID-19 cases and share many of the same concerns and needs of nursing homes as they continuously care for residents who are vulnerable to COVID-19.

VHCA-VCAL issued a statement that coincided with the release of the dashboard.
