DSS issued a memo on October 14 on changes to the individualized service plans (ISP) section of the Standards for Licensed Assisted Living Facilities as well as replacement pages for the affected section of the standards. VHCA-VCAL and other assisted living (AL) stakeholders have been calling for a tweak in the AL standards on signature requirements when documenting a change in condition on an ISP since the updated standards were issued in 2018. This change was effective October 15, 2020.

SB 686, which passed during the General Assembly’s 2020 regular session, required the regulatory change.
