What’s happening: Health Quality Innovators (HQI) has teamed with VDH to assist participating assisted living facilities and adult day care centers across the state to strengthen their infection prevention and control practices.

How it works: Through this initiative, an experienced HQI infection preventionist will assess the facility’s current infection control plan and conduct an onsite observational assessment.

• HQI will provide facilities support, tools, and resources to improve infection prevention practices.
• Providers who have completed the assessment have reported that the process strengthened their infection prevention program and triggered a proactive process for survey preparation.
