Emergency Prep Webinar Series Returns Focusing on Functional Exercises

emergencyMark your calendar: The VLIPP Emergency Preparedness and Response Webinar Series returns next week with a free session on January 24 explaining the purpose of a functional exercise. A second webinar on preparing your team for a functional exercise will be held on February 21.

  • VHCA-VCAL is partnering with Incident Management Solutions (IMS) to host the series. Zachary Goldfarb, EMT-P, CHEP, CHSP, CHSO, certified emergency manager and president of IMS will present the webinars.

January 24, 2024 | What Is a Functional Exercise?

  • This webinar will explain the purpose of a functional exercise and why it is important for long term care facilities to participate. In addition, IMS will explain how the functional exercise will be conducted in each region of Virginia in March.

 

February 21, 2024 | How to Prepare Your Team for a Functional Exercise 

  • This webinar will provide an overview on how to prepare your facility staff to participate in the virtual functional exercise that will be conducted in each region of the state in March.

 

Save the dates for future VLIPP events:

  • Additional webinars will be held on April17, May 22 and June 20. Specific topics will be announced in March.
  • The Emergency Preparedness Conference will be held on May 30, 2024 at the Hilton Richmond Hotel & Spa/Short Pump.
    • This free event will focus on emergency preparedness in the long term care industry and will feature subject matter experts as presenters and panelists to educate and answer questions on disasters that could impact facility operations in the Commonwealth.
    • Additional details and registration information will be shared this spring.
