DSS Selects New Central Region Licensing Administrator

The Department of Social Services (DSS) has announced that Leigh Burke has joined Adult Programs as the Central Office Licensing Administrator effective July 25, 2018.

Burke has a BS in psychology and a MS in gerontology from Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU). Since 2006 she has served as vice president of operations – Assisted Living with Shamin Hotels/Shamin Assisted Living Management. She has served as the administrator of several assisted living facilities. She has also served as instructional faculty at VCU’s Departmental of Gerontology and adjunct faculty at J. Sargeant Reynolds Community College.

In announcing the news, Tara Davis-Ragland, Associate Director Senior of Adult Licensing Programs – Operations, said, “We are greatly looking forward to working with Leigh and the wealth of knowledge and experience she brings to the Division of Licensing Programs.”
