VHCA-VCAL is excited to announce we are accepting nominations for our three statewide award programs:

  1. the Recognition Awards honoring long term care professionals
  2. the D.A. Woody Brown Awards honoring excellence in activity programming; and
  3. the return of the Volunteer of the Year Awards.

The deadline for all submissions is June 7, 2024. More information and instructions on how to submit nominations are available online.

The prestigious Recognition Awards honor long term care (LTC) professionals for their dedication to making Virginia’s LTC centers places of quality care for Virginia’s frailest citizens.

  • Awards recognize lifetime achievement, administrators, DON, and CNA of the year.

The D.A. “Woody” Brown Community Involvement Awards honor excellence in activity programming at member centers. The Woody Brown Awards recognize members who have demonstrated a high degree of professionalism and creativity in designing activity programs that encourage and support their residents and families.

  • Awards are given in three categories (special event, facility newsletter, and National Skilled Nursing Care Week/National Assisted Living Week). Members are encouraged to submit nominations in all categories.

The Volunteer of the Year Awards thank teen, adult, and group volunteers at member centers who give freely of themselves to support residents’ wellbeing.

  • We want to recognize individuals who are dedicated to improving the quality of lives of residents and their surrounding communities.

Members are encouraged to submit nominations in all categories. More details are available on our website at www.vhca.org/nomination-packages/.
