Study Examines Impact of Moving Into Assisted Living on Residents

In the news: McKnight’s Senior Living recently reported that a study “published in JAMA Internal Medicine provides fresh insights into assisted living residents at move-in and a couple of years later and suggests questions to contemplate about the future of the setting.”

Going deeper: Using “data from the National Health and Aging Trends Study, from 2011 to 2020,” researchers “set out to provide data related to how independent people are before they move into an assisted living community or nursing home; how much help they tend to get, and for what; and what the process leading up to a move looks like.”
