ALF Responses Needed for Emergency Prep Survey for Grant Project

ALF Responses Needed for Emergency Prep Survey for Grant Project

What’s new: Assisted living facilities (ALFs) were deliberately included in VHCA-VCAL’s Virginia Long Term Care Infrastructure Pilot Project (VLIPP) program grant proposal because of the critical role they play in the care continuum.

  • The project goal is to build on lessons learned from the pandemic and to ensure that Virginia is proactively including LTCFs—including ALFs—in its emergency preparedness infrastructure.

Respond to the project survey: Your responses will help inform phases of the project and the supports you may need to boost your emergency prep readiness.

How it will work: VHCA-VCAL is partnering with Jensen Hughes and VDH to build an emergency preparedness infrastructure through collaboration, education, and other support of LTCFs with the goal of improving their overall readiness and resiliency posture.

About the grant project: VHCA-VCAL is one of nine organizations awarded part of $9.9 million in funds to assist with ongoing COVID-19 response in nursing and long term care facilities (LTCFs).

  • The grants are part of the VDH Virginia Long Term Care Infrastructure Pilot Project (VLIPP) program, which is being funded by the CDC.

Stay tuned: Jennifer Koeniger, ALFA, who is our emergency preparedness project coordinator, will be reaching out to follow up with facilities for the survey.

  • To reach Jennifer, email her at emprep@vhca.org.
  • Additional project details will be coming in the next couple of weeks.
